News Alert: 15th March 1999
Sad news for all Phantom phans ... Lee Falk died of congestive heart failure on the morning of 13 March at 4:30am. Lee continued to script both The Phantom and Mandrake the Magician right up until his last days. He was literally the last, active comic strip creator whose work survives from the 1930s into the 1990s. He will be sorely missed ... but fondly remembered for the wonderful legacy of adventure stories he has left us.

The Ghost Who Walks.

The Ghost Who Walks has many names. Among them, Guardian of the Eastern Dakk (Also called the Eastern Dark), and The Man Who Cannot Die. Of course, the best known is The Phantom.
400 years ago, the sole survivor of an attack of the Singh pirates was washed up on the shores of Bangalla . Found and nursed back to health by a friendly pygmy tribe, the Bandar, he came upon the body of his father's killer. Upon the skull of the pirate, Kit Walker swore the Phantom Oath in which he would devote his life to fighting piracy and injustice and his son and his son's sons would follow him.

Generations later, the legacy of The Phantom lives on. Through the past 4 centuries, as son has followed father, the legends have grown. The natives believe he is the same man. The Phantom has many names. Among them, Guardian of the Eastern Dakk (Also called the Eastern Dark),The Ghost Who Walks, and The Man Who Cannot Die.

Here you will find my small tribute to The Ghost Who Walks in the form of a picture gallery and links to other Phantom sites.
