History

"The Phantom" was introduced in Agderposten by its editor Einar Guslaa, who was a prisoner of war at Grini during the German occupation of Norway. There, he noticed that all prisoners were reading "The Phantom" in Aftenposten. When Guslaa became editor of Agderposten in 1950 he quickly decided to publish "The Phantom".

In February 2012, "The Phantom" was removed from the Agderposten comics page, but overwhelming reader protests caused the editors to bring it back after only two days.
