Talk:The Giant Bird of Gandor
From PhantomWiki
- Sorry I was unable to made correctly appear the names of some countries (New Zealand,Portugal and Yougoslavia) in the Reprints titles. Thanks to correct them.
- I suppose that the Swedish “Fantomen Christmas Album 1981” is what is also entitled “Julalbum 1982” published in 1981. Is it true?
- In Australia , the Story was also released in the weekly woman’s magazine “Everybody’s” in 1963-1964, and in Great Britain it was released in the weekly magazine “Tv Tornado” # 63 to 71 in 1967 (3 b.& w.pages in each issue). I didn't cite that in the Reprints titles as these publications were not real serialized issues but only backup stories.
- I don’t know the release year of the Portugese “O Fantasma” #906.
- I thought that the Indian Diamond Comics issue in which the story was published was the issue #10 (tilte: The God of Gandor). Can anyone verify this point ? And if it was correct, in which year was that issue #10 released ? 82.227.36.122 20:18, 18 February 2009 (CET) Alain.
- No problems!
- Correct!
- We may add them later perhaps, thanks for the info.
- Do you know more about the Portuguese O Fantasma? I know nothing about portuguese Phantom comics. 906 issues is quite a lot!
- It was true, but regarding the Diamond Comics Digests it's very hard to know exactly when the issues were published. The only year shown inside the issues is 1990, which is the year the first Phantom issue in the series was published. Andreas 10:03, 20 February 2009 (CET)
- Sorry Anderas, as usual I was rather imprecise; the Portugese "Fantasma #906" is in fact the issue #906 of "Mundo de Aventuras", a well-known comics magazine in Portugal that was published since 1949 and contained many american comics - amongst them, for instance, Mandrake the Magician. In the series of "Mundo de Aventuras", almost 100 issues feature Phantom stories. Concerning Portugese publications with the Phantom, see on the web "http://www.bdportugal.info/Comics/Hero/index2.html?hero=Phantom" -link "Lista de Aventuras" but beware as the first part of the page is about Brazilian comics; also "http://www.comics-portugal.info/Comics/Col/MA/MA1/index.html" and "http://www.comics-portugal.info/Comics/Col/MA/MA2/index.html" specifically about the "Mundo de Aventuras" series. These web pages feature many attractive covers and details on almost every issue. A wiki page “The Phantom publications in Portugal” could be easy built upon the informations given by this reference site. Alain 82.227.36.122 20:56, 22 February 2009 (CET)
- I wanted to write "http://br.geocities.com/bdnostagia/Fantasma.htm", and not the same web site twice...When I said I am not precise...Sorry again.Alain82.227.36.122 23:08, 22 February 2009 (CET)
