- There is no official title of this short "story". "The Origin" is how it is referred to on various Internet sites.
- This story originally served as an introduction to the readers of the Gold Key Phantom magazine. While it doesn't mention the year of the 1st Phantom's swearing of the oath, it does state that the current Phantom is the 16th in the line. Other Gold Key stories, however, mentions that the current Phantom is the 21st, or the 17th.
